Fern and Kettle

Single-origin coffee, pastries out of the oven each morning, and a sunny corner to settle into. Open every day — the kind of place you end up staying longer than you meant to.

Why we're worth the walk

Small cafe, done properly

No shortcuts on the two things that matter — the coffee in your cup and the pastry next to it.

Coffee roasted nearby

A house espresso and two rotating filters, roasted a few blocks away and dialled in fresh every morning. Beans to take home, too.

Baked in-house daily

Croissants laminated by hand, galettes, and cakes — all made here from scratch and out of the oven by seven.

Oat, almond, whatever

Every milk alternative on the bar at no extra charge, plenty of plant-forward plates, and syrups we make ourselves.

A regulars' place

We learn your order and remember your dog's name. Most mornings you'll see the same friendly faces two tables over.

Room to work or meet

Fast Wi-Fi, outlets at every seat, and a long shared table for the days you'd rather not be home.

Cakes to order

Whole cakes for birthdays and small gatherings, made to order with two days' notice. Ask at the counter or drop us a note.

Our story

Three things we love

We opened Fern and Kettle to make the corner cafe we always wished we had. It comes down to these three.

The Roast

The Roast

Coffee we stand behind

We rotate a house espresso and two filters, roasted a few blocks away. If you fall for one, we sell the beans by the bag at the counter.

The Bakery

The Bakery

Baked before you wake

Croissants, galettes, and a cake or two come out of the oven from seven each morning. When they're gone, they're gone — so come early on weekends.

The Corner

The Corner

A table to stay at

Big windows, slow music, and outlets at every seat. Stay for one cup or the whole afternoon — nobody is counting.
